Artist’s Statement

In 1984, I took a leap of faith and decided to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a full-time artist. During the last 40 years of my working life as a painter, I have embraced change and allowed myself to explore a wide range of subjects while employing dramatically different styles and techniques. I credit my liberal arts education as a double major in studio art and art history for giving me a broad foundation of knowledge that informs my artistic vision and expands my intellectual horizons. 

Collectors of my work often comment on the scope of my portfolio and my ability to approach familiar subjects with a fresh eye. As you explore my website, you will see that my body of work includes paintings that are nearly photo realistic, some that are impressionistic, and those that are decidedly abstract. I have embraced the opportunity to grow and evolve as an artist and enjoy the challenges posed by diverse subject matter and mastering different stylistic approaches.
